Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Monivera (the "App"), an independent budgeting app operated by its developer ("Monivera", "we", "us", or "our"), and govern your access to and use of the App and related services (together, the "Service"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, where a higher age of digital consent applies (up to 16), you must meet that age or have the consent of a parent or guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Sign in using email, Apple, or Google as offered in the App. Notify us promptly at support@monivera.app if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for keeping your own device secure.

3. License to use the Service

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App for your own personal, non-commercial budgeting purposes. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.

4. Your content and data

You retain all rights to the budgets, transactions, notes, and other content you create in the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and, where you choose, to other members of a household you share. Our handling of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or households that are not yours, or circumvent the Service's security or access controls.
• Interfere with, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract source code from the Service, except to the extent permitted by law.
• Upload malicious code or content that infringes the rights of others.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.

6. Household sharing

The Service lets you invite others to share a household budget. If you invite someone or accept an invitation, members of that household can view and modify the household's shared budgets, categories, and transactions. Only invite people you trust, and use household sharing responsibly. You are responsible for the invitations you send.

7. AI features

The Service uses automated and AI-based processing to read the bank-alert text you share and suggest a transaction amount, merchant, and category. These suggestions may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting the transactions recorded in your budget. The AI features are provided as a convenience and are not a substitute for your own judgment.

8. Not financial advice

Monivera is a personal budgeting tool provided for informational purposes only. It is not a bank, broker, lender, tax advisor, or financial adviser, and it does not connect to your financial institutions or move money. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions, and you should consult a qualified professional where appropriate.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (for example, hosting, authentication, AI processing, notifications, and analytics) and may interoperate with third-party tools such as Apple Shortcuts. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services and do not endorse them.

10. Fees

Any paid features, subscriptions, or prices will be disclosed to you in the App before you purchase. If purchases are made through the App Store, they are also subject to Apple's applicable terms. Except as required by law or the applicable store's policies, payments are non-refundable.

11. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, and we may impose limits on certain features. We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be accurate, reliable, secure, or available at any particular time. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Monivera will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or SGD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Monivera from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

15. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
