Improved

• Behind-the-scenes reliability. This release makes small internal improvements that keep Monivera steady. Nothing changes in how you use the app.

Improved

• The tag breakdown shows its total. When you search by tag, the donut chart on the Breakdown view now shows the total of the results in its centre.
• A clear message before the Shortcut install. Auto-logging needs iOS 27 or later. On an older iOS, Settings → Set up iOS Shortcut now tells you to update your iPhone first, instead of opening a Shortcut link that won’t load.
• Click through the setup guide at your own pace. Every step of the setup guide now has a Next button, including the one that asks you to log your first transaction, so you can come back to it later.
• A guide to your bank’s alert settings. Monivera can only log the notifications your bank sends, and many banking apps skip small amounts by default. The new Bank alert settings guide walks you through turning on an alert for every transaction.

Fixed

• Transactions save after a dropped connection. When the Shortcut woke Monivera to log a purchase, the connection could drop with “The network connection was lost” and the transaction wasn’t saved. Monivera now retries, and never saves the same transaction twice.
• No more failed requests after the app was in the background. A request sent just as your sign-in session expired, for example right after the phone woke the app, could fail. Monivera now refreshes your session and tries again.
• Agreeing to AI processing no longer fails after a dropped connection. Tapping Agree right after returning to the app could fail with “The network connection was lost”. Monivera now retries.

Improved

• Your auto-log count on Pro. Settings → Membership now shows Pro members how many transactions they’ve auto-logged this month, instead of only saying that auto-logging is unlimited. Once you pass the free plan’s monthly limit, a badge shows how many auto-logs went beyond it. Until then, it shows how far you are from the limit, which Pro never enforces.

Fixed

• Readable buttons. On some phones, the Manage subscription button under Settings → Membership and the Save Budget Settings button shrank their labels to a tiny, unreadable size. Both are back to full size.

New

• A Home made of widgets. Home is now a summary of your period built from widgets: what’s safe to spend, a budget ring, cash flow, your spend pace, top categories, recent transactions, and more. Long-press any widget to edit: drag to reorder, tap the minus badge to remove, and use + Add to pick a widget from the bank or start from a ready-made template. Tap Done to save. Your layout follows you to your other phones.

• Widgets with settings. In edit mode, tap a widget that has settings to change what it shows. The Categories card can list your most used categories, your least used, or a set you pick yourself, ranked by spend or by share of budget used, at 2×2 or 2×3. The new Category tile follows one category of your choice: what’s left, or how far over, with its bar.
• The Ledger tab. The period’s transaction list, summary card, and List / Calendar toggle now live on their own Ledger tab, with search in its header. The dock is Home, +, and Ledger.
• Monivera en español. The whole app, the notifications Monivera sends you, and the Shortcut’s replies now come in Spanish when your phone is set to it. Pick a language during setup, or switch any time under Settings → Language. Amounts and dates keep following your phone’s region.
• Search several tags at once. Each selected tag is a pill on the results screen, and + Add picks another. Results combine every selected tag, with the total, count, and breakdown computed on the combined set.
• Rate Monivera. Settings → Leave Feedback → Rate Monivera opens a quick star rating with an optional comment, and hands you on to the App Store if you’d like to leave a review there. Monivera may also ask once in a while, never more than a few times.

Improved

• Every new Home starts on Insight. A pace sentence, the spend pace chart, three stat tiles, and the recurring envelope. Rearrange it or pick another template whenever you like.
• The setup guide covers Home. A new step points out the Home tab and shows how to press and hold a widget to customise it.
• Default category names in your language. New users who set up in Spanish get Spanish category names from the start. Switching the app language later only changes the interface, so a household’s shared categories never rename themselves behind another member’s back.

Fixed

• Tag search shows the right transactions. Searching by tag listed every tagged transaction, not just the ones carrying the chosen tag, so the total and breakdown were wrong. Fixed.
• No more startup crash after an update. Opening the app on a build that didn’t yet include the photo library module no longer crashes at launch.
• The summary card no longer draws at zero width for a frame while the Ledger lays out.

New

• 150 currencies. Choose your home currency from 150 currencies, up from 31, including the Pakistani rupee, UAE dirham, and Taiwan dollar. You can log a transaction in any of them and it’s converted into your home currency for you.
• Open your Regular or Recurring ledger. Tap the Regular or Recurring envelope on the Budget card to see exactly which transactions make it up.
• Mark recurring with your own rule. Add a rule under Settings → AI Rules that names a merchant as recurring, and auto-logged transactions from it are flagged as recurring for you. Monivera never guesses this on its own.
• Mark transfers with your own rule. Name an account or keyword as a transfer under Settings → AI Rules, and matching auto-logged texts are saved as transfers with no category, so moving money between your own accounts doesn’t count against your budget. Without a rule, money out is always an expense and money in is always income.
• Tags in any language. Tag names now work in Korean, Japanese, accented Latin letters, and more, in both the tag field and search.

Improved

• Clearer Shortcut setup instructions. Settings → Set up iOS Shortcut now adds the Shortcut in one tap, then walks you through picking your bank apps and turning it on, with a screenshot of the exact screen you’ll see. It checks itself off when your first auto-log arrives.
• Budget next to spending. Each category now shows its budget alongside what you’ve spent, in the category list and on the category detail screen.
• Promotions are quietly ignored. Forward every notification to the Shortcut and Monivera now drops promotional and non-transactional messages instead of turning them into entries.
• Better dates on auto-logged texts. A bank alert with only a time now lands today (or yesterday if that time hasn’t happened yet), and one with only a date uses the current time of day, in your own time zone.

Fixed

• Repeat purchases are all logged. Two identical purchases in a row, like two coffees at the same shop, are no longer mistaken for duplicates by the Shortcut.
• Pro status stays accurate. Your Monivera Pro membership now syncs from your subscription record and re-checks hourly, so renewals, expiries, and plan changes show up correctly without waiting a day.
• Clearer Shortcut wording. The Log Transaction step now describes what it accepts as any notification, message, or content, not just email and SMS.

New

• Log from a photo. Snap a receipt, screenshot a payment confirmation, or share an image straight from your Photos app, and Monivera reads it and drafts the transactions for you to review before saving. Works from the dock’s + button, your photo library, or an iOS share sheet.
• Categories that keep up with you. Start typing a merchant on Add Transaction and pause for a moment, and Monivera fills in the category automatically. Keep typing to change it, or leave your own pick alone.

Improved

• One card, the whole picture. The Budget tab now leads with a single summary of what you’ve spent against what you’ve budgeted, with your regular and recurring envelopes as mini bars underneath.
• Tags on the ledger. Transaction tags now show right on the ledger line next to your note, so you can spot them at a glance without opening the transaction.

Fixed

• Currency conversion never gets stuck. A rare outage with our currency rate provider could hang a save for half a minute and quietly leave the amount unconverted. Conversions now race multiple sources and heal themselves automatically, so saving is never blocked and any leftover work finishes on its own.
• Budget cycles roll over on time, everywhere. Accounts outside UTC could briefly see today’s spending counted against yesterday’s cycle (or vice versa) right at the boundary. The cycle now switches exactly at your local midnight.
• Clearer over-budget messaging. Overspent categories now read “$X over” instead of a confusing negative amount left.

New

• A guided first run. New accounts now land in a step-by-step setup guide right after the AI consent screen, instead of an empty dashboard: pick your currency and budget cycle day, set a monthly budget, review your categories and optionally fund them, then a walkthrough of the live dashboard and Settings. It finishes by opening the setup docs for the iOS Shortcut, the fastest way to auto-log transactions from your bank’s texts and emails. Replay it anytime from Settings → Replay setup guide.

New

• Your own AI rules. Head to Settings → AI Rules and tell Monivera how you categorize, in plain language: “Always categorize NTUC FairPrice as Groceries”, “Anything from Grab or Gojek is Transport”. Every new AI-captured transaction follows them, including the ones logged automatically from your bank’s email and SMS alerts. Use your exact category names, and remember that rules apply to new transactions rather than ones already logged.

• AI capture that explains itself. When a transaction logged through the iOS Shortcut is rejected, the notification now tells you why instead of showing a bare “Server error”. Empty input is caught on the device before it ever leaves your phone.
• Faster fixes when something breaks. Monivera now records a small set of product events and crash reports, so problems surface to us without you having to report them.

Fixed

• Push notifications now follow the account that is actually signed in on a device. If you had ever signed into a second account on the same phone, that account’s notifications could still land on it.

New

• Monivera Pro. Our first paid plan, with monthly and yearly options. Pro removes the cap on AI auto-logging, so every message you throw at Monivera turns into a transaction, no counting required.
• A generous free plan, clearly defined. Free accounts include 15 successful AI auto-logs per calendar month; manual entry stays unlimited for everyone. Track your usage and manage your plan in Settings → Membership.
• Heads-up before you hit the limit. As you approach the monthly AI auto-log limit, Monivera lets you know, including when you log through the iOS Shortcut, and tells you when the counter resets each month.

Improved

• One clock for the whole household. Your budget period’s timezone now lives on the budget itself, so every member (and budget alerts) agrees on exactly when a period starts and ends, even across timezones.
• Snappier AI capture. The transaction parser was slimmed down behind the scenes, so auto-logging is a bit faster.
• Improved security. Subscription entitlements and usage limits are now verified and enforced entirely on the server, so your account status can’t be tampered with from a device.

Fixed

• Budget periods now roll over correctly at the boundary in every case.
• Amount parsing handles more formats without mangling the value.
• Transactions auto-logged in a foreign currency are now converted to your home currency automatically, right after the AI parse.
• A busy-server error no longer shows an incorrect upgrade prompt or drops the transaction you were logging.
