Tips & Tricks

Get more out of Monivera with these time-saving habits and hidden features.

Set your budget start day to your pay day

Instead of resetting on the 1st, set the budget start day to match when your salary arrives. That way your budget period always starts full and ends right before the next deposit.

Go to Settings → Budget Settings → Budget resets on and pick your pay day.

Use the recurring toggle for fixed bills

Mark subscriptions, rent, and utilities as Recurring when logging them. They’ll be counted against your recurring envelope and won’t eat into your everyday budget — so your regular spending figures stay accurate.

Paste multiple bank alerts at once

If you have several unlogged transactions, copy them all from your messages into one block of text and paste it into the AI entry screen. Monivera processes each alert separately and queues them for review one by one.

Let the AI pick the category

When you log transactions through the AI entry screen or the iOS Shortcut, Monivera suggests a category from your own category list automatically — you only need to confirm or adjust it before saving.

Check the “Needs Review” section

Transactions logged via the iOS Shortcut that Monivera couldn’t confidently categorize appear in a Needs Review section at the top of the dashboard. Tap each one to assign a category and move it into the ledger.

Pull to refresh

Pull down on the dashboard ledger to force a sync with the server. Useful after logging transactions on another device or via the Shortcut.

Rollover unused budget

In Budget Settings, enable the Rollover toggle on a category to carry unused allocation into the next month. Useful for categories with irregular spending (travel, clothing) where you save up over several months.
